The government has announced the cessation of VET FEE-HELP scheme as from January 2017.However, they have informed us that the students currently studying under VET FEE-HELP, will be able to access the VET FEE-HELP loan, under grandfather clause until the end of December 2017 provided you sign a declaration which will be sent to you by the department. Please keep an eye on your post box or Email for any correspondence from the department and respond to it as soon as possible. Failure to do so will hinder your access to VET FEE-HELP.
To this end, encourage all the students to complete as many units as possible related to their enrolled qualification before the end of December 2017, if you want to access VET FEE-HELP loan for your studies. We understand that this decision has caused a huge amount of distress to many and we are doing our best to assist our students including offering interest-free easy payment option for those who do not want to access VET FEE-HELP loan or who want to continue their studies beyond December 2017. We also ask all the students enrolled in the Advanced Diploma of Naturopathy, Nutritional Medicine, and Western Herbal Medicine to be mindful of the teach-out plan and work within the plan so that you complete your qualification within the prescribed period.
If you have any question or need any assistance I ask you to contact Kim or Visha who will be able to work out a strategy for your individual circumstance. Please note that we do everything we can do to help our students so that they can complete their qualification. But please understand that we are required to work within a strict regulatory framework as such what we can do to help our students is very limited.

Australian Skills Quality Authority has extended the teach out period of the Advanced Diploma of Naturopathy, Nutritional Medicine, Western Herbal Medicine until December 2018. This means the students who are enrolled in theses qualifications have time till the end of 2018 to complete their courses and obtain their qualifications. These courses will no longer be offered after end of 2015 and this is the only window of opportunity that the new students have to enroll and complete these qualification and receive industry recognition. AIHM is offering another intake in JULY this year and all the lectures (theory components) will be offered in real time via virtual class room mode so that students get the real experience in studying in a class room and interact with fellow students and the teachers.
We have a proposed schedule of delivery until teach out period and students are required to follow the same.
AIHM is looking into providing a Diploma of Counselling in the near future and we would like to encourage our prospective students to inform AIHM whether you’d be interested in embarking your new career in counselling with us.

Community services and Health Industry Skills council has announced the removal of the following qualifications from the training packages from December 2015.
Advanced Diploma of Naturopathy
Advanced diploma of Homeopathy
Advanced diploma of Nutritional Medicine
Advanced Diploma of Western Herbal Medicine
What does this mean to current students and students planning to Enroll in 2015?
Students can enroll and make use of this window of opportunity to qualify with an industry recognized qualification as long as students remain enrolled by December 2015. This has been confirmed by industry associations. Students may have to complete their courses by a teach out period; the current Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) teach out period is 18 months after the removal date. However we will be proposing ASQA and other relevant bodies extend this time frame to accommodate enrolled students allowing them to complete and gain their qualifications in a more timely manner.
Meanwhile we ask all students to complete their courses ASAP and get in to the workforce since the degree program can take up to 4 years full time and can cost up to three times the cost that one may incur in an Advanced diploma qualification.
AIHM is exploring alternative options so that students enrolled by December 2015 have a variety of choices including continuing into higher education in this field if they so choose.
If you have any questions or concerns please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or ring us on 08 94173553
